2017 Class 5A Iowa High School Girls Basketball State Tournament

Here are the 2017 Iowa High School Girls State Basketball Tournament Class 5A pairings and results.

Class 5A quarterfinal games will be played on Wednesday, March 1. The winners advance to the state semifinals on Friday, March 3. The 5A championship game is scheduled for Saturday, March 5 at 8:00 p.m.

Teams that qualified for the 2017 state tournament: Cedar Falls, Dowling Catholic, Indianola, Iowa City High, Iowa City West, Johnston, Waukee and West Des Moines Valley.

Defending state champion Ankeny Centennial failed to qualify for the 2017 state tournament, so there will be a new champion crowned in Class 5A. The eight-team field includes four returning qualifiers: Cedar Falls, Indianola, Johnston and Waukee. This will mark the third-straight state tournament appearance for second-ranked Cedar Falls. Johnston advanced to the championship game in 2016.
