New ESPN Sports Betting Service Is Coming to Iowa [VIDEO]
ESPN brands itself as the worldwide leader in sports. They apparently would also like to lead in the world of sports gambling.
There is no shortage of sports betting sites and apps for consumers to choose from. BetMGM, Draft Kings, Fan Duel, and others allow us to bet on the games that we love to watch. Well, according to an announcement from the Walt Disney Company, you can now add ESPN BET to that list. The new service was officially announced today with a new commercial featuring Sportcenter anchor Scott Van Pelt.
Sports gambling officially became legal in Iowa in 2019, opening the door for sites like ESPN BET and Iowa casinos to begin taking legal bets on sporting events. ESPN BET will debut on November 14th here in Iowa, as well as in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
ESPN will rebrand its show Daily Wager to ESPN BET Live beginning on November 10th. The network will also use the official odds from ESPN BET on shows and other content produced by the network. Add another name to the crowded field of sports gambling. But with the ESPN name and budget behind it, look for this one to be a major player.
