Former Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy continues to take the NFL world by storm. Purdy has seemingly made it all the way back from the arm injury he suffered during last year's NFC Championship game. He helped the 49ers win their season opener in Pittsburgh. In fact, the Niners are now 8-1 in games the Purdy starts at quarterback. This week, San Fran takes on the Los Angeles Rams and Purdy will again be part of NFL history.

Sunday's game between the Niners and Rams is a division battle, but it will also be a moment in NFL history due to the quarterbacks. Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant, the last player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. Matthew Stafford of the Rams was the 1st overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. SI.com reports that this will mark the first-ever matchup between a quarterback who was the first pick in the draft against a QB who was the last pick in the NFL Draft.

While Purdy is off to a solid start, he would love to have the career of Stafford, who won a Super Bowl with the Rams after spending the first part of his career in Detroit. We'll have to see which quarterback brings it on Sunday. My bet is on the 49ers. Purdy did have a bit of a tough week thanks to a Cy-Hawk bet with teammate George Kittle. CBS Sports reports that since the Hawkeyes topped the Cyclones, Purdy had to wear some special headwear to a press conference this week!

You can see the pain it took for Purdy to put on the Herky head! Better luck next time Brock! At least he was a good sport about it!
