7/13/1990: ‘Ghost’ was Released in Theatres

It's been 30 years since Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze took over the Box Office with 'Ghost.'

The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, winning two: Best Supporting Actress, Whoopi Goldberg; and Best Writing. It was also nominated for 'Best Picture' but that honor went to Dances With Wolves.

Ghost raked in over $200 million at the box office in 1990, besting Pretty Woman and Home Alone for the top spot that year.

It was in the Top 10 at the Box Office for a total of 23 weeks in 1990 and 1991.
