The National Weather Service in Des Moines says that heavy, wet snow will continue across northern and eastern Iowa through the day. The snow could be mixed with rain/freezing rain this morning making for a tricky morning commute.

Snow rates of over an inch per hour are expected this morning. The heaviest snow will fall through the lunch hour.

As of 6 AM, the Iowa Department of Transportation has nearly 300 snow plows out on the roads.

The Winter Storm Warning has been expanded and now includes 38 counties. The warning will expire at 4 PM.

The record amount of snow to fall on March 15th in Waterloo is 9.5". However, the second-most snow to ever fall on March 15th is 2" in 1913.
