Vote for Iowa’s Best Burger in the Battle Against New York’s
The Iowa Beef Industry Council has challenged another state's beef council to a beef-off!
Back in April, the Iowa Beef Industry Council announced the 2021 winner of Iowa's annual Best Burger Contest. The crown went to the Bino Burger from Bambino’s in Ossian, Iowa. The article from the Iowa Beef website says that "the flavor, creativity, and hospitality, which abounds at Bambino’s, have helped this small-town establishment secure Iowa’s 2021 Best Burger award." Since the announcement, Bambino's has seen a huge influx of customers from all over the state. A Facebook post from May 7th reads:
"We have had people drive a long way for a Bino Burger—Des Moines, Mt. Pleasant, Cedar Rapids, Vinton, Sumner, Mason City, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Dubuque, New Hampton, Waverly, New Hartford... just to name a few..."
Even though Bambino's is the undisputed 2021 champion here in Iowa, the competition is not over yet! A new article from the Des Moines Register says that the restaurant is going head-to-head with the best burger winner from all the way over in New York! According to the article, the Hot & Smokey Candied Bacon Burger at Ale n’ Angus Pub in Syracuse is New York's Best Burger for 2021. They've actually held the title several times over the past 10 years, in 2012, 2013, 2018, and 2019.
The competition is all in good fun. Both beef councils are hoping that it will bridge the gap between Midwest beef production and Northeast beef consumption, plus bring even more customers to both locally-owned businesses.
