My Favorite Restaurant is Burning

(video below) I grew up in Waukon (Class of '97) and have eaten at this family-owned restaurant every year of my life. Seriously. I would eat there before nearly every home baseball game in high school, I had my wedding rehearsal dinner in the party room, and I was still taking my children numerous times a year just to eat a 'Large, Regular Crust, Mushroom and Beef Pizza' made by the owner, 'Dave.'

Sometimes my kids would sporadically say, "Dad, can we go to Gus & Tony's?" It didn't take much argument from me, so we would make 200-mile round trip trek just to eat their pizza....and would usually order one more to eat the next day.

Iowa's News Now reports that the fire began around 9:00 AM on Monday and multiple agencies were on scene battling the blaze.

Very Sad...
