Man Arrested On Charges Connected To Waterloo Homicide
Authorities have detained a man on charges connected to a recent Waterloo homicide.
According to a news release, 33-year-old Andre Collier was arrested this week in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Haltom City, Texas. He was taken into custody on a charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
Waterloo police said Collier was involved in the July 20th shooting of 15-year-old Cortez Harrison in an alley near the 2800 block of East Fourth Street. Harrison later died at a local hospital.
A warrant for Collier’s arrest was obtained during the investigation, Waterloo police said. On Thursday, he was being held in a Texas jail awaiting extradition to Black Hawk County.
The investigation into Harrison’s shooting death remains active. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Waterloo police.
