This was the band's first first album with Brian Johnson handling vocals and to say it was a 'big hit,' is an understatement -- it has sold over 50 million copies worldwide – and is the 3rd highest selling album of all-time. (#1, The Eagles “Greatest Hits”; #2, Michael Jackson's “Thriller”)

BACK IN BLACK peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 FIVE MONTHS after it was released. When it reached #4 in December of 1980, the #1 album at time was Kenny Rogers’ Greatest Hits, followed by Barbara Streisand, and Stevie Wonder.

The album has been on the Billboard 200 for a total of over 350 weeks. Only 14 other albums have spent more time on that chart.
