The Midwest's best-known grocery chain is now gaining even more notoriety after one of its stores has broken a Guinness World Record.

At a Hy-Vee grocery store in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, the store decided they wanted to set the Guinness World Record for 'Largest Ice Cream Sandwich.'

The council (I assume) at Guinness determined that for them to break the record, or set the record, they had to pass 2,460 pounds of ice cream sandwich.

For it to be official, an adjudicator from Guinness even came in and was present for the building of the sandwich.

30 employees worked for five hours to create an ice cream sandwich that beat the goal weight by 500 pounds, for a whopping total of 2,960 pounds.

When they had the record confirmed, they divided it into portions to deliver them as a donation to the Food Bank of Lincoln and the Food Bank of the Heartland.
