Charles City Man Raking in the Dough After Winning Lottery
The past year has been a green one for many in Northeastern Iowa.
one Waterloo woman won $100,000 after playing the lottery. Not even a full week later, yet another woman in Waterloo took home the big cash prize of $30,000. By the end of April, a third Waterloo woman had claimed a $20,000 payout. In total, $150,000 went directly into the pockets of several Cedar Valley residents. Another Waterloo man sweetened up the pot by winning another $100,000 in April.
You thought Waterloo had the only big winners? Think again!
A LaPorte City won big with the Iowa Lottery this week. Ann Haraldson got very lucky when she played the state lottery scratch game "Bonus Crossword" and won $30,000. This winning ticket that she bought came from the Kwik tar on 841 South Street in Jesup.
These winners from Northeast Iowa are really wracking up money. Another man went on his lunch break and ended up winning $50,000.
Yet another Waterloo resident is making waves as an Iowa lottery winner. When she initially started telling people she had won this huge prize late last week, no one believed her.
"We've done it before — we've gotten the fake scratch-offs and we've done this before to them. So they just figured it was another time we were joking because our family is big on joking," the winner said to IA lottery officials.
Kerry Ensign of Charles City won big at the lottery earlier this month. Ensign played the scratch off game "Win Big" and the name of the game is very fitting. After claiming his prize he got to go home with an extra $30,000 in his pocket.
His winning ticket was sold at the Stop-N-Shop located at 201 Bradford St. in Marble Rock.
