Early Morning Fire Damages Waterloo Home

The city fire marshal is investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a Waterloo home overnight.

Crews were called out to extinguish the fire around 12:30 AM Wednesday. The home that caught fire is at 514 Ankeny Street.

According to Waterloo Fire Rescue officials, some flames and heavy smoke were billowing from the one-story structure when crews arrived.

Officials said no one was home when the fire started. No injuries were reported.
