4/24/1989: Tom Petty Released “Full Moon Fever”

It was Petty’s first solo album, however, all of the Heartbreakers make an appearance on the record, except for drummer Stan Lynch. It also featured guest appearances by Roy Orbison, George Harrison, and Del Shannon.

The album peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and has sold over five million copies in the U.S. It also contained three #1 hits: "Free Fallin'," "Running Down a Dream," and "I Won't Back Down."
