It’s never been done at the NCAA Division-III level until now. The Wartburg wrestling team won it’s fourth-straight NCAA Championship on Saturday (March 15, 2014) and in doing so became the first team in the country to four-peat. The top-ranked Wartburg wrestling team looks to make history this weekend at the NCAA National Championships. The Knights have won the last three national titles and have 10 in program history. With a championship this weekend, Wartburg would make NCAA Division-III history as being the only team to four-peat and the 11th title would tie Augsburg's NCAA-leading total.

Ten area high school seniors plan to play college football beginning this fall. The group includes nine student-athletes from the Cedar Valley. In all, 12 area prep athletes signed national letters of intent on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Two of the signers plan to participate in track and field.

The Independence Mustangs will wrestle WaMac conference rival West Delaware at the new Jr/Sr High School in Independence, Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. Following this Top Ten high school showdown, No. 1 ranked Wartburg College and No. 5 Coe College will square off in an Iowa Conference dual match at 8 p.m.  KCRG-TV 9.2 will carry it live starting at 6:00 p.m.
