The Independence Mustangs will wrestle WaMac conference rival West Delaware at the new Jr/Sr High School in Independence, Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. Following this Top Ten high school showdown, No. 1 ranked Wartburg College and No. 5 Coe College will square off in an Iowa Conference dual match at 8 p.m.  KCRG-TV 9.2 will carry it live starting at 6:00 p.m.

Special guests at this event will include Scott Casber, Dan Gable, Jim Miller, Dan McCool and others.

Takedown Radio's Scott Casber, the voice of the Big Ten and NCAA Championships will emcee the evening starting with the Indee/West Delaware dual. The event will be televised LIVE on KCRG 9.2 anchored by the legendary Dan Gable and wrestling journalist KJ Pilcher. JV wrestling matches between Independence and West Delaware will start at 4:30 p.m. and be wrestled on two mats. The varsity dual will go to a spotlight mat at approximately 6 p.m. and Wartburg and Coe will wrestle following at approximately 8 p.m. Admission for the evening is $5 for adults and students. No activity passes will be allowed.

Independence is currently ranked ninth in class 2A and is led by top- ranked junior Chase Straw at 145 lbs. and third-ranked senior Kyle Fank at 182 lbs. The fourth-ranked Hawks of West Delaware are led by a pair of top-ranked seniors, Patrick Woods at 113 and Jake Voss at 160 pounds.

At 8 p.m. the college stars take to the mat as the three-time defending NCAA Division III National Champion Wartburg Knights face long time rivals Coe College. Wartburg boasts ten Top Ten ranked wrestlers. Wartburg's lineup features a trio of top-ranked individuals: Gilberto Comancho (125), two-time defending NCAA Champion Kenny Anderson (133) and Landon Williams (174). The Kohawks are ranked 12th in the nation and are led by the third-ranked returning All-American Jimmy Gotto at 133 lbs.
