Over his final two years with Iowa basketball, Luka Garza solidified himself as the greatest hooper in the program's history.

As a junior, he scored 23.9 points per game while also grabbing 9.8 rebounds. Then, as a senior, he scored 24.1 points per contest along with 8.7 rebounds en route to winning the Naismith Trophy and National Player of the Year in 2020-21. He ultimately had his number retired and hung in the rafters of Carver Hawkeye Arena this previous basketball season.

Following his senior year, he was drafted 52nd overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2021 NBA Draft. He put up 5.8 points and 3.1 rebounds over 12.1 minutes per game in 32 contests as a rookie. As we shared just a week ago, the second year of his contract was not picked up by the Pistons him and he entered unrestricted free agency.

He was then signed to the Summer League team for the Portland Trail Blazers just a day later.

For those unaware -- those Summer League deals aren't all that lucrative. According to Sports Illustrated (at least in 2018), players receive a $1,500 per diem while playing over their 12 days in Las Vegas.

It sounds like Garza may be a bit strapped for cash.

Just kidding. He made over $1 million last year.

In completely unrelated news, like a barrage of other stars across sports, acting, music, and more, the Hawkeye great has added himself to the ranks of celebrities that have joined fan-engagement website Cameo.

If you're unfamiliar, the site allows fans to access their favorite stars and receive personal messages from their heroes. You can also speak with them face to face over their app.

Here's a NSFW deep dive into the app from VICE:

If you or are a friend are looking to get a personalized message from Garza, you can go to his profile and set up a time and message you or someone else can receive from him. You can see his first video message he put out on the app here.

His starting rate is $125 per message.
