Pepsi Fan Breaks World Record with 12,400 Can Collection
Christian Cavaletti from Italy, also known as the King of Pepsi, has broken the record for the largest collection of Pepsi cans. It includes 12,402 cans from all over the world and many limited editions of the soda (or pop as we midwesterners say).
His basement is filled with shelves that he made to store all the cans. To organize, he divided the shelves of cans by country. Among the countries, they are chronologically ordered from old to new.
Christian’s collection assembles cans from 81 different countries.
Born in 1970, Christian started collecting Pepsi cans on the 1st of June 1989.
Christian broke the record for the first time in March 2004 with 4,391 Pepsi cans. Since then he has tripled the number of cans he owns and holds the new world record.
In the video above, Cavaletti shows the first Pepsi ever made in 1948. This can looks like it belongs in a garage, not a fridge.
His favorite flavor is the American Wild Cherry Pepsi. Good choice!
Not only does Cavaletti collect Pepsi cans, but Coca-Cola cans as well. Although his interest is in Pepsi, he likes to trade coke cans for Pepsi cans with his friends, especially Gary Feng, the Canadian man with the largest Coca-Cola can collection, shown below.
Christian Cavaletti wrote on his website that he aims to turn his collection into an in-depth exhibit of “all things Pepsi cans”.
“More than 15,000 different cans will be displayed, but day by day, the number will increase, making each visit a unique experience, even after several times."
Cavaletti continues to grow his collection and enjoy the flavorful taste of Pepsi.
