An investigation is underway in Hardin County, where a sheriff's department canine officer discovered a woman's body on Wednesday (Nov. 30, 2016).

According to sheriff's officials, deputies were checking a suspicious vehicle parked on County Road D-41 at the time of the discovery. During the investigation, K9 Ogon tracked a scent from the vehicle and found the body of white female in a wooded area approximately 200 yards away.

Authorities believe the body is that of a missing Minnesota woman, who the vehicle is registered to.

Sheriff's officials haven't yet released her identity. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
