West Union Man Charged With Enticement
A West Union man is accused of soliciting a female under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Fayette County sheriff's officials took Allen Love Jr., 47, into custody Tuesday following a week-long investigation. Love was arrested on charges of enticing a minor (class "C" felony) and violation of the Iowa sex offender registry-first offense (aggravated misdemeanor).
As part of the investigation, authorities searched Love's home at 311 Cherry Street in West Union. Authorities said several electronic devices were found during the search, which were seized for forensic examination.
Love was transported to the Fayette County Jail, where he was being held on a $20,000 bond. Sheriff's officials said parole violations against Love are also pending, since he was on probation at the time of the alleged incident.
The case remains an open investigation and more charges could be filed at a later date, authorities said.
Fayette County sheriff's officials were assisted by the West Union and Decorah police departments.
