Waterloo Work Release Inmate Missing

Authorities are looking for an inmate who failed to return from a work release assignment.

According to a press release, 31-year-old Cody Tarrance failed to report back to the Waterloo Residential Correctional Facility Monday night. Iowa Department of Corrections officials said Tarrance is now considered an escapee.

Tarrance is described as a white man. He's about 5'11" and weighs around 205 pounds.

Court records show that Tarrance was convicted of third- or subsequent-offense domestic abuse assault in Black Hawk County. He was admitted to the work release facility on Jan. 9.

Anyone with information on Walker's whereabouts should contact local police.
