For the second time this season, COVID-19 has forced the postponement of two UNI women's basketball home games.

Missouri Valley Conference officials announced Tuesday that this week's series between the Panthers and Evansville will not be played. UNI was scheduled to host the Purple Aces at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls on Thursday and Friday.

A press release said the two-game series was postponement due to positive COVID-19 test results among Evansville's Tier I personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff. Make-up dates will be announced later, league officials said.

COVID-19 concerns also forced the cancelation of this weekend's Indiana State-Missouri State series. MVC officials said the games, slated to be played Friday and Saturday in Springfield, Mo., will not be rescheduled.

Last month, the Missouri Valley Conference postponed UNI's league-opening series against Missouri State because of high COVID-19 numbers within the Bears' program. The Jan. 1st and 2nd games were played two later in Cedar Falls, and Missouri State swept the series.

The Panthers (8-8 overall, 5-4 MVC) are next scheduled to play Bradley on Feb. 12-13 in Peoria, Ill.
