Three Charged In Fayette County Drug Bust
Fayette County authorities arrested three people on multiple charges after investigating a report of suspicious activity near a canoe access in Elgin Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene around 5:15 PM. After multiple interviews, authorities executed warrants and searched multiple vehicles.
Deputies took 39-year-old Mikel Normann of West Union into custody on a charge of driving while barred.
Ashley White was arrested on several charges: felony possession of methamphetamine (over 5g) with intent to deliver, third offense felony possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and 3rd offense felony possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.
Also arrested was 37-year-old Shane Howard, Jr., of Wadena, on the following charges: felony possession of methamphetamine (over 5g) with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff’s officials say they seized approximately 66 grams of methamphetamine during the investigation, along with 17 grams of marijuana, multiple vials of THC oils and over $2,800 cash.
Fayette County sheriff's officials were assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and West Union Police Drug Canine.
