A big win for midwest authorities came on Wednesday morning when a routine traffic stop turned into a major drug bust.

According to federal authorities, Travis Werkmeister was part of an organization that imported methamphetamine from Mexico to Iowa.

One member of the Iowa legislature has been pushing to make psychedelic mushrooms legal to use for Iowans. Recreational drug use has been a hot button issue across the country, but the use of psilocybin, which is the chemical found in mushrooms finally reached the Iowa House floor.

Other drugs and weapons were also found.
