Whether it is the catastrophe of a year like 2020 or a somewhat normal year like 2019, some families struggle to make ends meet during the summers and worry about their kids having a good lunch once school is out. Unfortunately, some families rely on schools and their free lunches to help provide meals for their kids and worry how to provide those lunches during summer. This is where Rodney's Kitchen in downtown Waterloo has stepped up to the plate to help in the past years and are doing it again in 2020.

According to KWWL, Rodney's Kitchen at 624 Sycamore Street in Downtown Waterloo is bringing back their "Rodney's Kitchen for Kids" free sack lunch program in 2020. This is where families can get free sack lunches for Waterloo kids during the summer Tuesdays through Fridays from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The program will start on Tuesday June 9th through Friday August 7th of 2020 and can be picked up straight from the restaurant while practicing social distancing.
