
One Killed In Rural Black Hawk County Accident
Authorities are investigating an accident that killed one person in rural Black Hawk County Monday morning (April 10, 2017).
According to sheriff's officials, the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. when a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and motorcycle collided at the intersection of Canfield Road and Independence Ave. -- both Iowa Highway 281-- east of Waterloo. Witnesses reported that the SUV was northbound on Canfield and turned into the path of the southbound motorcycle while attempting a left turn onto Independence.
Sheriff's officials said one driver died at the scene. The names of those involved in the crash weren't immediately released.
