Drivers Identified In Fatal Black Hawk County Crash
Black Hawk County sheriff's officials have identified the drivers involved in a deadly accident at a rural intersection east of Waterloo on Monday (April 11, 2017).
Authorities said Neil Whitesell, 57, of Dunkerton, died at the crash site. He was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that struck a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the intersection of Independence Ave. and Canfield Road (both Iowa Highway 281) around 6:30 a.m.
Deputies identified the SUV driver as Kody Kibe, 23, of La Porte City.
Sheriff's officials said Kibe was driving north on Canfield Road, when he turned into the path of Whitesell's southbound motorcycle.
The accident remains under investigation.
