Oelwein Woman Charged With Attempted Murder

A young Oelwein woman has been charged with attempted murder for an incident that happened Friday night.

Christina Burco, 19, was taken into custody on the charge following an investigation, authorities said.

Oelwein police said officers received a call around 7:45 PM Friday. The report was in reference to an alleged dispute at a residence in the 400 block of 3rd Street SW.

Authorities were advised that one person sustained injuries, police said.

No other details on the incident were released.

Oelwein police were assisted by the Fayette County sheriff's officials.
