A woman had to be freed from her vehicle following a single-vehicle accident in Cedar Falls early Monday.

The crash happened around 1:30 AM in the 1200 block of Center Street in the North Cedar area of the city. Cedar Falls police said the vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree, trapping the female driver inside.

Cedar Falls firefighters used extrication equipment to free the woman from the wrecked vehicle. Officials did not immediately identify the victim.

According to a press release, the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo for treatment.

Police said the accident remains under investigation.
