Normally, most of the Oktoberfest events would have started this weekend or next weekend, but like everything else they've been cancelled because of COVID-19. This includes Iowa Oktoberfest that was supposed to be held at Anton's Garden in downtown Waterloo. The good news is, as my grandpa used to say, "Lord willing and the creek don't rise", Iowa Oktoberfest will return in September of 2021.

There's other good news for beer lovers, Sam Adams is here to save the day! They teamed up with Auntie Anne's pretzels to sell "Oktoberfest At-Home Kits". They come with everything you need to celebrate. Check this out, each kit includes a six-pack of Sam Adams Octoberfest Beer (editor's note - "a mighty fine and tasty beer") along with 10 soft pretzels, four sets of lederhosen suspenders, 4 hats, 2 glass steins, 4 special edition beer koozies, a recipe book and an Oktoberfest playlist. All for just $89 plus shipping.

Prost! --- *Disclaimer - author did not receive any compensation (free beer) for his unsolicited plug of Sam Adams Octoberfest beer...(which is kind of sad)
