As a result of record high unemployment and positive COVID-19 cases continuing to grow across northeast Iowa, the Northeast Iowa Food Bank continues to combat rumors surrounding their food supply and more specifically the food supply of the Cedar Valley Food Pantry.

So, let's get right to the question and short answer: Has the Food Bank's food supply run dry?

In a press release, Executive Director of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, Barb Prather said:

“We have not run out of food and we don’t anticipate that happening anytime soon.”

In fact, the Food Bank notes that, it’s not uncommon to see an individual or family take home 100 pound of groceries. Prather went on to say, “As long as the generosity of northeast Iowans continue, I’m confident in our team’s ability to secure, store, and distribute food to families in need, throughout northeast Iowa.
