Another road construction project is set to start in Cedar Falls, likely as early as Monday (June 8, 2015).

Resurfacing work is scheduled to be done on W. 27th Street from Panther Parkway to Hudson Road, south of the McLeod Center. Cedar Falls City Engineer Chase Schrage said the contractor will be able to complete the work without a road closure.

The construction project is expected to be in effect for two to four weeks, depending on the weather.

The W. 27th Street project is one of two getting underway in Cedar Falls this week. According to city officials, construction work is also expected to begin Tuesday on Colorado Road between Dallas and Boulder Drives.

The work on Colorado Road is expected to take about four to six weeks to complete. Traffic access will be limited during that period. City officials anticipate the road will be fully closed for one day, following paving.

The West 27th Street and Colorado Road projects are among several impacting traffic in Cedar Falls this summer. State Street is currently being reconstructed and extensive road work is also underway on University Avenue, west of Hudson Road.
