More Iowa State Park Facilities Will Open This Week

If you're planning on doing some camping with the family this summer, you'll be happy to hear that the Iowa DNR has released a list of state park facilities that will officially reopen this week!

A DNR press release outlines some of the changes at Iowa state parks, courtesy of an update on the DNR's website on Monday. Those changes include:

Lodges/shelter reservations can be made on the DNR’s park reservation system for June 6th and later (groups are limited to 50% capacity of the facility and must social distance)
Youth and group camps are open (groups are limited to 50% capacity of the facility and must social distance)
Playgrounds are open
Some events can now happen with social distancing protocols (get updates on those events HERE)
Overnight campers can now have visitors at their campsite

The DNR website also notes that all modern restrooms and shower buildings are open, and cabins/yurts are open (with kitchen supplies removed). Any visitor center, museum, or nature center that's managed by a state park is still closed, but the website adds that many of them will open this month.
