Back to back days where people were shot in Waterloo, making Memorial Day Weekend a violent one in the Cedar Valley.

As we shared yesterday, "Police responded to a call for a shooting with injuries around West First Street and Wellington Street around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arriving at the scene, the Waterloo Police Department says they found two adult males suffering from a gunshot wound.

Both were transported to the hospital and one male died from the injuries of the incident."

The Waterloo Police Department is still investigating the event.

Additionally, "a man was shot and injured in the area of Boston Avenue and East Louise Street. ... He suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. His injuries weren’t life-threatening, police said.

Police were also called to a report of gunfire in the area of Logan Avenue and Conger Street around 10:15 p.m. on Monday. No injuries were reported, but a parked vehicle was damaged, and police collected spent shell casings at the scene," per The Courier.

As of last night, police will have two more shooting events to look into.

Last night around 8:50 PM, a masked individual walked up behind an unsuspecting man near a lemonade stand in the area of West Fourth and Grant streets and shot him in the neck, per The Courier.

Children were present during the attack, police said.

The bullet did go through the man's neck, and police offered life-saving care until paramedics with Waterloo Fire Rescue arrived on the scene. As reported by The Courier, "He was taken to MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center and later transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for further treatment, police said."

A little over two hours later at 10:55 PM, shooting took place outside Club Legacy in Waterloo. One man was shot in the leg. He is expected to survive. Police seized a handgun at the scene.

As of now, each of the incidents are under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

It's unclear as to whether or not the crimes are related to one another.
