Sheriff's officials said the pursuit began around 12:30 AM Saturday near Westgate in Fayette County, then entered Bremer County at C33 and V62. The chase continued throughout Bremer County and eventually ended in the 1800 block of 130th Street, southwest of Frederika.
Authorities identified the driver as Richard Dennehey, 59, of Brainerd, Minn. He was taken into custody on charges of operating while intoxicated, eluding while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance-second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license revoked. Dennehey was booked into the Bremer County Jail.
Officials said Dennehey struck and damaged a Bremer County patrol car during the pursuit.
