Full disclosure: I have an endorsement with King Buck's, so keep that in mind as I share my thoughts on their restaurant!

After living in the Midwest for four years, it wasn't until I tried one specific food that I felt like I could officially call myself an Iowan.

At the end of last year, I was going around Cedar Falls for some last minute holiday gift shopping. I had been out for a few hours at this point, and I was on the cusp of getting hangry.

Before I could finally finish up my Christmas shopping, I had to find something to eat.

So, I drove over to King Buck's in Cedar Falls to grab dinner.

The plan was to sneak a quick bite of the food before I went back out to the stores.

A Bit About King Buck's

Located at at 6719 University Avenue in Cedar Falls, King Buck's opened for business last year. Run in part by the same team behind Starbeck's Smokehouse in Waterloo, this newer restaurant serves up a wide variety of burgers and brews.

I've tried the mac and cheese burger as well as the mushroom and swiss burger during past visits to the restaurant.

During this visit, I was going to try something I've never had before.

After four years of living in Iowa, I was finally about to try a pork tenderloin.

Wait...You've NEVER Had A Pork Tenderloin?

I'm originally from the East Coast. So, out there when you say "pork tenderloin" people usually imagine a fillet or pork steak.

This idea of a breaded or fried cutlet on a MASSIVE bun was something I hadn't heard of before.

So, since people were hyping up the tenderloin at King Buck's I decided to give it a go.

I ordered the sandwich to go and was going to take a quick bite in my car before I got back to shopping.

Unfortunately, my personal willpower was not strong enough. After one bite, I finally got what all of the hype was about!

This pork tenderloin was crispy and juicy, the bun was perfect, and don't even get me started on the breading. If all pork tenderloins are half as good as the one I had from King Buck's, I'm going to be in some big trouble.
