Illinois Murder Suspect Arrested In Waterloo
Waterloo police have arrested a man wanted for murder in central Illinois.
Shoen Russell, 48, of Champaign, Ill., was apprehended in the 2100 block of Logan Ave. late Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 2, 2018). He was wanted for first-degree murder in Champaign, Waterloo police said.
According to information in a Champaign police press release, Russell allegedly shot a man during an altercation outside an American Legion building on Aug. 23. The victim, who was also from Champaign, later died from his injuries at the hospital.
Waterloo police said authorities in Champaign issued a $5 million warrant for Russell's arrest on August 24.
