Home Run Derby At Field Of Dreams To Benefit MDA
Kevin Kostner's character in the movie 'Field of Dreams' heard the phrase "Go the distance..." while standing in the Iowa corn. Now you can go the distance yourself at the legendary ball field this spring and it's all for a great cause!
The MDA will be holding the first ever Iron Horse Classis Home Run Derby at the Field of Dreams. The event will be held on May 18th at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $35 and participants get a t-shirt, coaching, and the chance to play on the historic Field of Dreams. Concessions will be available that day as well as music and other games.
Prizes will be awarded for the top of each division. Players can register on one of the following divisions: age 9-13, age 14-18, Adults 18 plus, and Adaptive Hitting for adults with special needs. Every dollar raised at the event will benefit the MDA. Funds will go to things like their groundbreaking research center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and clinics as well as their MDA summer camps.
If you'd like to test out your home run skills and knock a few balls into the corn this spring, you can sign up for the Field of Dreams event HERE.
