A West Union man faces additional charges after Fayette County authorities found hidden drugs when he was incarcerated on an outstanding warrant.

Mark Macinnis, 34, was taken into custody by the West Union police on a Bremer County warrant around 8:30 AM on Friday (July 13, 2018). Macinnis was transported to the Fayette County jail, where jailers found narcotics hidden on his person.

Sheriff's officials said they have now charged Macinnis with possession of contraband in a correctional institution.

He is being held in the Fayette County jail, waiting for his initial court appearance.
