George Wyth State Park Reopening
With flood waters receding in the Cedar Valley, officials have reopened George Wyth State Park.
According to information posted on the park's website, George Wyth reopened for public use at noon on Friday (June 15, 2018). Due to flooding, Brinker Lake was to remain closed throughout the weekend.
Park officials said access to some trails also was to be limited because they are still underwater.
While George Wyth is reopening, another popular recreation spot in the Cedar Valley remains off-limits due to high water from the Cedar River. Black Hawk Park in Cedar Falls is still closed, due to flooding.
