Former Hawkeye TE Kittle Goes BEAST MODE for Niners! [VIDEO]
Every time former Iowa tight end George Kittle has a big moment in the NFL, I go back and look at his Iowa statistics. Arguably the best tight end in the NFL only had 22 catches and 4 touchdowns his final year at Iowa. Needless to say Kittle has taken things to another level, and on Sunday in New Orleans, the San Francisco tight end came up huge when it mattered most!
The Saints and the 49ers was the marquee matchup in the NFL on Sunday. The winner would have a leg up in the race for the #1 seed in the NFC. After a back and forth game that saw numerous lead changes, the Saints went up 46-45. Only 53 seconds remained on the clock. Facing a 4th down, quarterback Jimmy Garapollo hit his star tight end and then Kittle did the rest.
Tack on the 15-yard face mask penalty on the Saints and that gave Niners kicker Robbie Gould a chip shot for the win. The kick was good and San Francisco came out with a 48-46 win.
It was the game of the year in the NFL, and another notch in the legend of George Kittle.
