Major League Baseball is coming to Iowa.

The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox announced Thursday that the teams will play a first-ever regular season game at the historic "Field of Dreams" diamond near Dyersville next season. The game is scheduled for Aug. 13, 2020 and will be nationally televised by FOX starting at 6 PM (CT).

According to a press release on the White Sox website, a temporary 8,000-seat ballpark will be built on the farm site where the classic 1989 movie starring Kevin Costner was filmed. Construction on the make-shift stadium is expected to begin Tuesday, exactly one-year before the game is scheduled to be played.

The Thursday night game will be a home date for White Sox. The teams will have the following day off, before completing the three-game series that weekend in Chicago.
