With the 2020 Iowa high school softball season just getting underway, the first rankings have been released.

Six teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are featured in the pre-season poll, released Monday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU). Clarksville is the highest rated team from the area. The Indians are featured at No. 3 in Class 1A, after playing in the state championship game each of the past two seasons.

Monday marked the first day of practice for softball and baseball teams across Iowa. The first games in the coronavirus-delayed season can be played on June 15.
