The Waterloo Bucks are on the cusp of clinching their first Northwoods League playoff berth in six years.

They can wrap the half-season championship with a victory tonight or a loss by second-place Eau Claire. Waterloo enters the final day of first-half play with a one-game lead in the Great Plains East subdivision, following Monday afternoon's 9-7 win at Thunder Bay.

Blake Wagenseller served as a one-man wrecking crew for the Bucks (19-16) in their comeback win. His 3-for-4 performance at the plate included a double and a home run. On the day, he drove in three runs and also scored twice as Waterloo rallied from an early 2-0 deficit.

Patrick Ferguson hit his team-leading sixth home run of the season to lead off the third inning. His solo shot over the Port Arthur Stadium video board tied the game at 2-2.

Waterloo then exploded for four runs in the seventh inning and added three more in the eighth, before allowing four in the bottom of ninth.

The Bucks and Border Cats (14-20) wrap-up their four-game series tonight in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

With Waterloo on the verge of a playoff berth, team officials have announced they will be hosting a baseball watch party at Riverfront Stadium this evening. The game will be shown live on the ballpark's 474 square-foot video board, starting at 6:05 PM. Admission is free after the gates open at 5:30 PM.

Fans are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to watch the game on the field, however bleacher and grandstand seating will be available.

The concessions stand will be open during the watch party. Outside food and drink is not permitted.
