Some players only dream about the kind of night that Trae Berhow had on Tuesday.

UNI's junior guard tied a team record with eight made 3-pointers while scoring a career-high 36 points in the Panthers' 87-67 victory over UT Martin at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls. With his long-distance shooting, Berhow matched the mark shared by former UNI greats Cam Johnson and Paul Jesperson. His eight threes surpassed the previous arena record of seven made by Adam Viet and Marc Sonnen.

Berhow was 6 of 7 from behind the arc in the second half and shot 13 of 17 from the field during the game. As a team, the Panthers made 16 3-pointers. UNI's offense was firing on all cylinders, shooting 59 percent from the floor.

The Panthers (5-0) started hitting 3-pointers early in the game. AJ Green scored UNI's first nine points on three consecutive shots from beyond the arc. The Panthers never trailed after taking a 9-8 lead, which grew to 44-37 at halftime.

Green finished the night with a career-high nine assists. The sophomore guard from Cedar Falls tallied 14 points.

Austin Phyfe recorded a double-double for UNI, scoring 11 points and grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds. He was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field.

UT Martin (2-3) had four players score in double figures, led by Parker Stewart's 22 points.

UNI's first-ever meeting against the Skyhawks was a preliminary match-up in the Cancun Challenge. The Panthers head to Mexico for a pair of games next week, after hosting Cornell in another non-conference contest on Wednesday at 7 PM.
