Less than a week ahead of his State of the Union address, President Barack Obama will be returning to the Cedar Valley.

The President will visit Cedar Falls on Wednesday (January 14, 2015) to talk about making high speed Internet access more available nationwide.

Although the White House has not yet announced where Obama's visit will be, sources said the Chief Executive will speak about 2 p.m. at Cedar Falls Utilities.

The announcement of President Obama's Iowa trip was made by Governor Terry Branstad's office on Saturday. His visit to the Cedar Valley is part of a multi-stop, nationwide tour to preview proposals in his January 20th State of the Union address.

Wednesday will be Obama's second visit to the Cedar Valley as a sitting President. On August 14, 2012, during a bus tour across Iowa, he made a campaign stop in downtown Waterloo and spoke to a crowd of about 1,800 at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre along the Cedar River. Beforehand, he had a beer and chatted with bar patrons during an unannounced half-hour stop at the Pump Haus in Cedar Falls.
