Several cattle died, and some were injured, in a semi accident in Winneshiek County.

It happened just after 4pm Tuesday (Nov. 19), on 150th Avenue in Frankville Township.
63 year old Rickey Mormann of Earlville was the driver of the semi, loaded with cattle. When he attempted to pull out of a driveway, the back wheels of the semi got stuck in a ditch.

The semi was eventually pulled out of the ditch; Mormann got out of the rig for a few minutes, and with no one inside, it started to roll down 150th Avenue.

The semi and trailer went into a ditch and rolled onto the passenger side. Authorities had to cut the cattle out of the trailer.

Five cattle died, while four were injured.

Damages were estimated at $45,000.
