A Northeast Iowa man is now being charged following the investigation into a one-vehicle accident near Waverly from earlier this week.

Bremer County sheriff's officials received a report of a vehicle in the ditch off U.S. Highway 218 around 3:45 AM on Tuesday (July 17, 2018).

Deputies determined that Brian Streich, 43, of Waverly, was driving southbound on the U.S. 218 on-ramp, when his vehicle's wheels dropped onto the shoulder and he lost control. His car then left the road and struck two signs. No injuries were reported.

Further investigation by sheriff's officials has led to the arrest of Streich for second-offense operating while ntoxicated and failure to maintain control.

Waverly Police and Waverly Ambulance assisted the sheriff's department at the scene.
