Fayette County Man Arrested For Violating Sex Offender Registry

A northeast Iowa man has been arrested in Fayette County for a violation of the state sex offender registry.

Sheriff's officials took Gary Thomas, 58, of Hawkeye in custody on Tuesday (Sept. 25, 2018). He's charged with failure to comply with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry - first offense.

Investigators determined that Thomas had not registered the proper information on the registry, as required by Iowa state law.

Thomas was taken to the Fayette County jail in West Union, and released the next day on an unsecured bond.
