This pandemic has made life hard for many small businesses. Sadly, a great number of wonderful, small Iowa businesses have already gone under due to COVID-19. In an effort to slow this as the colder months approach, Alliant Energy is offering up to $7,500 towards Alliant Energy bill, according to a press release we've received from Rebecca Phillips, the Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation Secretary.

The program, put in place by Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Economic Development Authority, will aid eligible businesses. In order to qualify, a business must have 50 or fewer employees, a physical location in Iowa, average monthly usage less than 25,000 Kilowatt hours for electricity - or 2,500 therms for natural gas. The businesses also must be open or planning to reopen.
