55 Years Ago Today: Vikings’ Jim Marshall Picks Up Fumble, Runs Wrong Direction
On October 25, 1964 in a game against the 49ers, Jim Marshall recovered a fumble and rumbled 66 yards the wrong way into his own end zone, resulting in a safety.
He still holds the record for most fumbles recovered (30) in a career. He's also one of just 11 players to have played in all four of the Vikings Super Bowl losses in the 1970s.
